Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the services provided by A Traveling Teacher ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our services. These terms govern your use of our website and tutoring services.

2. Services Description

A Traveling Teacher provides online tutoring services for students in grades K–12. Our services include academic subject tutoring, standardized test preparation, home-hospital tutoring, and related educational support. Services are provided by licensed educators via video conferencing and interactive whiteboard platforms.

3. Eligibility

Our services are available to students of all ages; however, parents or legal guardians must enter into agreements on behalf of minors. By using our services, you represent that you are either (a) at least 18 years old, or (b) a parent or legal guardian of the student receiving services.

4. Scheduling and Cancellation

Sessions must be scheduled in advance through our booking system. We require at least 24 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Cancellations with less than 24 hours notice may result in a cancellation fee. Repeated last-minute cancellations may result in termination of services at our discretion.

5. Payment Terms

Payment is due prior to or at the time of each tutoring session unless other arrangements have been made. For state-funded programs, payment will be processed according to the applicable program guidelines. We accept major credit cards and other payment methods as displayed during checkout. All prices are in USD.

6. Refund Policy

Refunds may be issued at our discretion. Sessions that are missed or cancelled with less than 24 hours notice are generally not eligible for refunds. If you are dissatisfied with a session, please contact us within 48 hours so we can work to resolve the issue.

7. Student Conduct

Students are expected to participate respectfully and constructively in tutoring sessions. We reserve the right to terminate services for behavior that is disruptive, disrespectful, or harmful to our tutors or other students.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, materials, and resources provided through our services are the intellectual property of A Traveling Teacher or our content partners. You may use these materials solely for personal educational purposes. Redistribution, reproduction, or commercial use without written permission is prohibited.

9. Privacy and Data

Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using our services, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, A Traveling Teacher shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for services in the three months preceding the claim.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Our services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that our services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that specific academic outcomes will be achieved.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold A Traveling Teacher harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our services or violation of these Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Florida.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
