The Power of Weekly Check-Ins

Here at A Traveling Teacher, we believe the key to a child's success lies in fostering strong communication among all stakeholders in their education. We recognize the pivotal roles played by parents, teachers, tutors, and, most importantly, the students themselves. That's why we are proud to offer free weekly check-ins with your child's school teacher—a practice we consider integral to unlocking the full potential of each student.

The Triangle of Success: Parent, Teacher, Tutor

Real-Time Progress Monitoring:

Regular weekly check-ins provide an invaluable opportunity for our tutors to stay informed about what a student is currently working on in class. Real-time updates ensure that everyone is on the same page, which ensures the student is not being taught two different things at the same time. That would be quite confusing!

Holistic Understanding of the Student:

By fostering open communication, we gain a holistic understanding of each student's learning style, strengths, and areas that may need additional support. This approach enables us to tailor our tutoring sessions more effectively, ensuring a targeted and personalized learning experience. Materials from class can easily be uploaded to the virtual whiteboard, keeping all lessons as visual as humanly possible.

Strategic Collaboration:

Collaboration is the cornerstone of success. When parents, teachers, and tutors work together seamlessly, the student benefits from a unified support system. Weekly check-ins create a collaborative space for sharing insights, discussing challenges, and collectively contributing to the student's academic growth.

The Impact on Student Success

Consistent Support:

Students thrive when they receive consistent support across different educational environments. Our weekly check-ins ensure that the strategies implemented by A Traveling Teacher align seamlessly with the classroom curriculum, reinforcing a cohesive and reinforcing learning experience.

Early Identification of Challenges:

Regular communication allows for the early identification of any challenges a student may be facing. Whether it's a particular concept, study habits, or comprehension difficulties, addressing these issues promptly ensures that no student has the sensation of being overwhelmed.

Empowering Students:

Inclusive communication empowers students to take an active role in their education. Knowing that their parents, teachers, and tutors are invested in their success motivates students to engage more meaningfully in the learning process.

How It Works

Scheduled Weekly Check-Ins:

The owner, Peter Panopoulos, coordinates with your child's school teacher to schedule brief, weekly check-ins. These sessions provide a platform for open dialogue, progress updates, and collaborative goal-setting. As a licensed teacher himself, Peter understands how busy teachers can be and does not overwhelm teachers with unneeded communication.

Open Lines of Communication:

Our commitment to transparent communication extends beyond check-ins. Parents, teachers, and tutors are encouraged to share insights, observations, and recommendations at any point, ensuring a continuous flow of information. As long as we are not teaching, eating or sleeping, we are always available to chat!

Strategic Planning:

The information gathered during these check-ins informs our tutoring approach. We strategically plan sessions to complement and enhance the student's in-school learning experience. Why confuse them with things they aren’t even learning?
